Elaine Hindal

Elaine joined the British Nutrition Foundation in 2022. Previously, Elaine was Chief Executive of The Drinkaware Trust, and prior to that, Director, External Affairs at The Children’s Society. Elaine is a former trustee of learning disability charity, Mencap, and is a trustee of the drug and alcohol treatment charity, Change Grow Live.
Previously, Elaine’s career included senior marketing and commercial roles with Nokia, Cadbury Schweppes plc, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, The Coca–Cola Company, Beiersdorf AG and Boots plc. She has worked in markets across the globe and lived in Europe and the USA.
Sara Stanner
Science Director
Sara joined the BNF having completed an MSc in Public Health Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Prior to this she worked at the Centre of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Risk at University College London Medical School where her activities included the coordination of a project in St Petersburg to investigate the relationship between intrauterine malnutrition and adult cardiovascular disease.
Alan Black
Director, Food System Transformation
Alan joins the British Nutrition Foundation with senior international marketing experience with Unilever where he led multimillion turnover brands across complex organisations and markets including UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and North America. Alan was formally Marketing Director of Upfield UKI where responsibilities included leadership of Brand, Digital & Technical functions.
