Community Award
The British Nutrition Foundation community award recognises an individual (such as a health professional, academic, teacher or volunteer) or a group that has undertaken a community initiative to support healthier eating in a vulnerable group(s) in the UK.
The Award is made possible through the British Nutrition Foundation's management of the Drummond Memorial Fund, established in memory of the work and contribution of Sir Jack Drummond.
The 2024 Community Awards
Winner – Food Cycle
This year’s winner is Food Cycle. Food Cycle work to reach vulnerable groups with fresh, nutritious communal meals across the nation, aiming to simultaneously tackle isolation and food waste and equip a small army of volunteers to mobilise communities and empower guests, team members and food networks to actively improve local food security.
Runner-up – FEAST with us
This year's runner-up is FEAST with us. Their Healthy Eating on a Budget programme aims to empower people experiencing food insecurity to independently access their nutritional needs, make informed dietary choices and improve dietary behaviour on a budget by supporting them to build their knowledge, skills and confidence pertaining to nutrition and food preparation.
